Suitcase Sale
Friday Evening 8:15 pm - 10:00 pm
The purpose of our silent auction is to provide scholarship money for pre-service art teachers to attend our conferences. This is your opportunity to help future art teachers experience the learning and fellowship that happens at a KAEA conference.
Artwork donations should be dropped off during registration/check-in on Friday morning. If wanted a receipt for tax purposes will be given to the donor for items donated. (Only the cost of materials is deductible.)
Light refreshments will be provided.
*Purchases by cash or check only.
The suitcase sale is a KAEA tradition where members have the opportunity to sell their creations. There is no cost for reserving a table, but a donation to the Silent Auction which benefits pre-service teachers is required. The suitcase sale is open to the general public, but only registered attendees of the conference may sale from their suitcase.
Reserve your table with the Suitcase Sale Chairs Cal Mahin or Kris Bohanan by October 1st.

“Time Goes By”
KAEA Art Auction at Rock Springs
In previous years art auctions
at the Fall Conference at Rock Springs were the big event on Saturday
evening. Bidding numbers were acquired
by 8:00 p.m. and auctioneer Bob Cross started the auction. There was always some strong competition for
the works up for auction. They could bring up to $120.00 with ring man Cal
Mahin taking the bids.
A mysterious auction piece
just arrived for the auction. Where did
it come from? Not a soul knew. The following instructions were
attached: Do not unwrap, buy sight
unseen, take home and unwrap, add to the composition, sign, wrap it back up,
and bring it back for the KAEA Fall Conference art auction the following
year.
Great news! The mysterious work will be back this year
for the art auction at Rock Springs on Friday evening!
